Afstan: “Bouhammer Predictions of the Surge Assessment”

A pretty good preview I think, though dealing militarily (even if quasi-covertly) with Pakistan’s FATA would be very hard even if Pakistan were non-nuclear.

Well written. Also a couple more points. Pakistan can not be invaded simply because the US does not have the available manpower to open up another front. The wars we are presently embroiled in are sucking the economy dry. The US public would never accept it and there would be no coalition. The US would have to go it alone. There is also a question of how badly Iraq will unravel once the US pulls the last 50 000 out of there. My guess is completely. The only way the US could win in Pakistan is to turn the whole country into a parking lot. Tempting but unlikely. Nuclear and all. I’m afraid we’ve blow our wad and will win very little when this venture is finished. Even if we win in Afghanistan….just what have we won. The Saudies are the real villains and we are still kissing their asses. It’s all politics and the great minds that got us into this mess are all out of ideas. We will be winning until the last chopper lifts off the embassy roof in Kabul. Hope I’m wrong. Bin there…..dun that
