It will be fascinating to watch this unfold. ALP’s one vote majority rests on the cooperation of a Green, a certifiable flake from Tasmania and two NSW members who actually represent very conservative electorates. One of the latter two, Tony Windsor, is already expressing disappointment with his treatment by ALP.
If Gillard has the wisdom to pursue broadly centrist policies that can be supported by the opposition Coalition she may serve a full term. If she veers off that course to placate the Greens and independents there will likely be another election coming up soon.
