School is over and I’m officially a journalist, so I’m not sure what this means with regards to writing opinion. Nobody has told me I have to stop, but there’s a sense that one shouldn’t be writing any opinion on things you’re reporting. We’ll see how it goes. I haven’t had a lot of time to write lately, which is especially crazy given the fact there’s an election on.
I just bought my first DSLR camera, a gently used Nikon D40, so I hope to contribute some of my own pictures to Friday Photography as I experiment with shooting pictures again.
If you have Facebook you can see these pics I took a month ago. Even if you don’t have Facebook you should be able to see them since my privacy settings are public.

Congratulations.
Congratulations and as to opinions in cases you are in doubt have the very first thing you write make it very clear that what follows is an opinion piece and when reporting look for facts and proof, give both sides of any story as honestly as you can and you will be a more ethical journalist than many out there.
I’m sure others try to live up to this ideal but some only care about their careers or personal gripes or vendettas, but this is just about ” normal ” due to human frailties.
Just do your best, and if you feel you have been wrong or unfair in a story or later decide that some bias creeped into your words you can always follow up with a correction.
Congrats Adrian. I’ve been reading your blog for some time now and always thought your writing was very good. I search for columns written by Blatchford, Hebert and Michael Harris because they have a fairness to them, and, they have journalistic pride.
It may take a few years, but, cant wait to get my Sunday coffee and see what MacNair wrote today.
Congrats Adrian,
I hope you have a Boss that allows you to have an honest fair and balanced opinion.
Well DONE and all the best in your new endeavour. Keep up with the FNPhotog and the writing – you will go a long way. Climb higher!!
Seriously, those are photos you took…? WOW!
So much talent bursting from one person.
Congrats Adrian.
We knew you when…….you were a BTer!
Congratulations, Adrian. You’ve worked hard for this day.
Sadly, you might not be able to be quite so political as you have been in this blog when you are working for a paper. However, there will be a lot of rewards, particularly if you and your family find yourselves in a small town and very involved in the life of said town.
I wish you all the best in the future.
Only the first one above and the ones I linked to on Facebook. The others above me are done by pros
