You gotta love that world body:
The United Nations on Wednesday rejected Iran‘s bid for a seat to the board of the new U.N. agency to promote equality for women after fierce opposition from the United States and human rights groups to Tehran’s treatment of women.
But the U.N. accepted the bid of Saudi Arabia, which is also opposed by human rights groups…
I’ll bet Canada did nothing to stop Saudi (more here)–big bucks, eh? You can be…
Welcome to UN Women
Quick! What’s the main thing Iran and Saudi Arabia have in common, thought differing over certain important, er, details? Hint: they both ain’t Arab.

I get your frustration but your drive by smear of Harper’s Canada is overdone. How much shit do want him to have to answer for. He’s already thrown the gauntlet down with his unequivical support for Isreal, his ongoing statements on human rights in China. Then there is Afstan and the rest of the middle east, african countries…
As Spector has just touched on, with all the divergent political forces and feelings across Canada, it is impossible to satisfy everyone, what with the various political parties and their ever-jockeying, added to and aided by whether the power circle of media punditry agrees or does not agree with any given issue. He’s always one politically correct word away from electoral banishment.
