Puck porc?
Now:
Bernier slams PM pledge to fund arenas
Anything really wrong with liking big…or not properly protecting documents that likely contained nothing of true sensitivity if one has the, er, right ideas? And can be trained about certain matters?
In any event M. Max is showing a certain amount of, er, balls. This sounds good to me:
Dans la culture entrepreneuriale qui est la nôtre, lorsqu’on subit un dur coup, on se retrousse les manches et on reprend le travail.

Ottawa

The only way that I will vote for the Conservatives in the next election is if Harper is gone. He has blotted just about every page of his copybook and has nothing more to say to the Canadian people. Disappointed I am.
Bernier on the other hand seems to as you say possess a certain amount of balls. A quality we REALLY need in Ottawa. If he is rehabilitated maybe his ex-squeeze might make a big comeback as well. I could live with that.
I don’t care if he walks on water, Bernier is from quebec. I can’t recall a PM from quebec who didn’t screw the west one way or another.
Words cannot express the extent of my disappointment with the PM and the PMO in the last few months.
Why do we work to keep these people in power, anyway. At least when the Liberals are in power, we know who the enemy is.
Again..baby; bathwater
or
Don’t kill the goose that lays the golden eggs..just say’in..
What has you disappointed Mike?
The Harper govt taking on cue jumping Tamils?
The cost of the G8/20, which Sheila Fraser is in line with other global events?
The Economic Action Plan that drug Canada out of the recession in record time (2 quarters earlier than all the Liberal mouth pieces said)?
Or that today marks the day that every job lost in economic melt down has been regained?
Rebuilding the military with fighter jets that brings $12 Billion back into the economy, Arctic Soveriegnty, new immigration laws, making EI self supporting…?
I am very happy the long form census was de-criminalized.
And I hope farmers will no longer be treated like criminals, threatened with jail,
if they don’t register their guns or if they sell their own grain to a buyer of their choice.
No disappointment here.
Max has the PMs ear,
and perhaps, like with the long form census,
Max is sent out to do the PMs bidding, against the arena funding.
I agree with Wilson here, I don’t want PM Harper to try and win over the media, I want him to win over the voters. Funny, but most of the stories that the media have pushed tend to be proven crap in the long run.
How about that Guergis meltdown, you don’t hear much on how the video did not actually show what the “anonymous” letter writer claimed happened. Too bad that the PMO allowed the media to drive this to a frenzy, and isn’t it just like the media to non-report things when they are wrong.
How about the panic over Sun TV and the misinformation in the media about the CRTC applications. The screed in the Star yesterday was just another piece of misinformation written by Mallick, no understanding of Category 1 applications just parroting a misinformation report from another professional journalist who just plain made sh*t up. (That would be the Lawrence Martin article that has the left all in a tizzy over the supposed interference with the CRTC and forcing cable companies to provide Sun TV to everyone like it was the CBC or something, utter crap. Another professional that can’t even do the proper legwork to find out what a Category 1 licence is.)
And now like the media tizzy over funding for an arena where no funding has been announced. I have not seen a single article saying that the PM has given any federal dollars toward this project, but the misinformation goes on. Don Martin (I think it was) claimed that no federal dollars are used to build arenas for professional teams, and yet if you look into the MTS Centre you’ll find around 10 Mil out of just under 200 Mil funded by the feds… I don’t think that was right, but at least Martin could be accurate and report that although the amount is out of line it isn’t unusual for large projects to come hat in hand to the federal government. A conspiracy theory from the tin hat left.
Here’s my rebuttal.
“The Harper govt taking on cue jumping Tamils?”
-And they’ve done exactly what? Go look at Jason Kenneys home page. Fourth video from top on the right: “Jason Kenney eases family immigration for Tamils.” Remember it was a PC government that opened the immigrant/refugee floodgates. Harper has done nothing to change this. Nothing.
“The cost of the G8/20, which Sheila Fraser is in line with other global events??
-I have no issue here. The G8/20 was a great triumph of leadership. One that sadly was wasted politically because of the bad press around the census and the other “small hills” of this past summer.
“The Economic Action Plan that drug Canada out of the recession in record time (2 quarters earlier than all the Liberal mouth pieces said)?”
-give me a break. The EAP was a pork barrel exercise that had nothing to do with our recovery and everything to do with optics and self promotion. The 15% tax rebate on home renovation was the only really good thing there, and it’s gone now. Our resource based economy and stable banks were the key to Canada’s good situation. Australia had the same good situation under a rather left wing leadership.
“Or that today marks the day that every job lost in economic melt down has been regained?”
-ditto to above
“Rebuilding the military with fighter jets that brings $12 Billion back into the economy, “
-I am ambivalent on this. I support the military, but it’s a $hitload of money that will become a political liability in the next election. Not sure if this was the best way to spend 12 billion. Similarly about the new jail system. Right now I guarantee you that Harper will get hammered on the proposal to built lots of new jails at a time when most Canadians are much less worried about crime than about the economy
“Arctic Soveriegnty, new immigration laws, making EI self supporting…?”
-“Arctic sovereignty:” hot air. Nothing here. What exactly have we accomplished?
-“immigration laws”: watered down so much that they change nothing. The Mexican and Roma visa thing was good, as was the new Citizenship Guide. I give Kenney some kudoas on that. Hardly a revamp of our immigration laws.
-“EI changes”: you got me there. I don’t really have any idea what real change you are talking about.
“I am very happy the long form census was de-criminalized.”
-really really stupid. This is truly a small hill to die on, at the wrong time, that will first of all cost us a lot of votes, and second of all will be reversed if/when the CPC loses power.
“And I hope farmers will no longer be treated like criminals, threatened with jail, if they don’t register their guns”
-why is this a farmer issue? I am a gun owner too. I totally support C391. It was promised policy by the CPC from 5 years ago. Is making good on a single simple promise such a huge thing? Good for the CPC on this one. And you are just using it as a talking point. If you really cared about gun rights in Canada you would know that the real problem with the registry is that it’s a future tool for confiscation. That’s why it has to be fought.
“or if they sell their own grain to a buyer of their choice.”
-as far as I know there has been no substantial change there. Lots of talk though.
“Max has the PMs ear, and perhaps, like with the long form census, Max is sent out to do the PMs bidding, against the arena funding.”
-wishful thinking, I think. The same kind of rationalization that says that it all be different when we have a majority. Blech. If I hear that one more time. Seriously, we are told what great control Harper has of his causus. If so, and if he really doesn’t want to fund this arena, then how were 10 Conservative MPs from Quebec create this stupid $hitstorm for him.
What about the disgrace of the Human Rights Commissions. Ignored. Jennifer Lynch still boss there.
What about Harper’s throwing Libertarianism “under the bus” last year in his “Faith,Family, and Freedom” speech
What about breaking his promise about election dates?
And in a few weeks, when Canada gets a seat at the UN Sec Council, I have no doubt it will be hailed as some great triumph, but that’s a sham. The more we participate in the UN the more we waste our money and enable a corrupt and worthless organization that is actively working against conservative ideology and national sovereignty.
You know, when you start to believe your own propaganda, it’s a fairly reliable sign of a government about to go down.
And you want to continue this discussion, I’m happy to do so, but let’s do without ad hominem attacks. I am a conservative that genuinely believes his party is going astray, and if you read the Canadian conservative blogs, I am far from the only one.
