National Post: Michael Ignatieff For Sale. Newest Model

Today’s blog entry in the National Post is about Michael Ignatieff’s Liberal Express Tour and what I think the “dressing down” really means for him. I suppose that to a certain extent it’s fairly obvious what it means, but few people have come right out and said it:

By now it should be clear to everybody that the “Liberal Express” is nothing more than an attempt at a Liberal makeover. Unfortunately for the Liberal party, it’s about a year and a half too late.

You never get a second chance at a good first impression, as the expression goes, and Michael Ignatieff has made the kind of impression you might get from a telemarketer calling at dinner time. His approval ratings in opinion polls rank his popularity somewhere below that of a man who wants Quebec to secede from Canada.

Aah … Just who is “Michael Ignatieff”?

  2. You can change the colour of the paint but a Delorean is still a Delorean.

Most of the mainstream media is trying to figure out why their pick is not gaining in popularity.

Have you been to one of these events? I suggest you go to one before casting judgement. A whole other perspective than what you read in the papers and watch on the big tv screen.

The one I went to, Iggy was actually a very receptive, engaging man and he actually did look like he was enjoying himself; relaxed. I think most of us can detect stiff. He answered questions from as many as time allowed him to.

    Turn out was great too.

Friends, aquaintances and family members also went to events when the bus stopped in their respective towns and they said the same thing I did.

Surely you must have caught some of the twitter feeds as well from folks who showed up to their respective events as well, saying it was a positive experience.

Again, if the bus stops in your town, I suggest you make the time to attend. you just might be pleasantly surprised if you keep an open mind.
