One might almost think that, what with the Québec über alles, aka “national unity“, aka hoping for a majority, outlook of the Conservatives–in particular their government’s trimming on Afstan (the Québecois, especially amongst citizens of Canada, do not like war). Maybe the Liberals for their part would benefit from running again, stuffed or otherwise, le p’tit gars de Shawinigan; on the other hand Uncle Louis lost in the end.
On the Conservative side one might point out that, though certainly no St. Laurent, there is still Minimum Max. But Canada really may need a new Sir Wilfred Laurier. Fat chance.
