As a “soccer/football” Dad, I have never seen so much interest in this year’s World Cup. There were some great games and lots of controversy to keep everyone talking. Even some of my “I hate soccer” friends were impressed and watched the final.
The CBC needs all the help it can get when it comes to ratings.
Too bad this also does not qualify as Canadian content.
Be thankful American viewers were not demanding a yellow light to help keep track of the ball.
The CBC is also showing some Canadian content the highlights from the stampede in the late evening in Toronto.
I don’t believe that number. Are we to believe 1 out of 6 Canadians watched that game? Not one of my circle of friends watched even one of the whole play offs and no one I know watched the final and most couldn’t even say who was playing. I call bullshyt on the ratings.

Soccer is BORING. Those numbers are like that cause this is a country of immigrants they love that lame sport, so who cares. I’ll take Hockey over any sport, nothing compares.
